Love the full length episodes and the vidoe quality is great. This is what cable channel apps should be like. Get this app and you won't disappointed.
Great app!

Yes it will need wifi in order to load video content, but this is a fantastic app for free! My 5.5 year old son is very into nature and animals so the Amazing Crocs shows are perfect for him. Some content not suitable for little children since it is all real video, but overall a wonderful app for both kids and adults.

I'm amazed by how well the Smithsonian polished this app. Anyone interested in history, science, or culture will love this. There are documentaries, articles, slideshows, quizzes, and other interactive goodies constantly updated with new content. It's a little like mixing the Discovery Channel with a copy of the National Geographic magazine. This is beyond a doubt the best free app for the Nook Color and Tablet.

I absolutely LOVE this app. There are a lot of them here that I could live with out, but this one is an absolute FAVORITE now. I home school one of my kids and this is going to be such a great tool to use. I can tell that Hulu and Netflix are just around now on our Color Nooks. The video is absolutely amazing and I love the different types of videos on here through this app. My daughter and I are already fighting over the Nook this morning. Looks like we may have to spread our wings and buy another one. This is a DEFINITE for all color nook owners.

The depth of the scenes is amazing. I watched one of the aerial 45 minute shows. No stopping, no hesitation. It was like watching a hi def movie on tv with no commercials. Love this app. You won't be disappointed.

Loaded it and 15 seconds later was watching a video on stealth technology. This is a great free app or for that matter a great app in general. Hope more content like this becomes available in the near future.

I got this to watch the videos, but I have yet to get one that will play. Seems like it would be a good app if it actually worked.

Some videos are full-length, some are not. You can find out which ones are by looking at the running time. The episodes are HD and run really smoothly. I'm very impressed.

I have the app on one Nook, but not the others. The proggie works like a skipping stone over the topics. Some features are done in depth. I'm on the fence about the Nook resources vs benefit of the app. So far about 30% of the material is something I'd follow up on to a degree. Don't you wish they had Pulse Reader?
Nook tips:
1. Stiffen the power connector cord that inserts into your Noon, Nook Color or Nook Tablet by straightening the cable about 4 inches. Next, use a stiff rod such as a plastic, a coffee stirrer or split popsicle stick under the cord. Secure everything with scotch tape, plastic ties in such a way that you are able to grasp the cord and insert the end connector without bending the end connector in the process. A word of caution. If you use duct tape, and if you ever have to undo your construction, then you will have a gluey mess on the cord. I suppose you could split a soda straw and sleeve it over the power cord before taping.
2. The charger for a Nook color and Nook Tablet are the same!
3. Search ((0.00 (your favorite topic)) for free media.
4. A microfiber cloth such as those used in car care work great for keeping the Nook screen clean.
