Those. I know most if not all have no lue what happened last night. Well here it is. Ashtail and i got ina a fight and he left. He made me realize that this clan is not what it once was. Its changed and im not happy about it. And even worse. I am the reason its changed. I ruined the clan. So i stepped down from my leadership. And no. This yime i am not coming back no matter what you say or may think. I know what happened and i dont need to justify myself to you guys. I will be in Bloodclan. Meanung. Along with my resignation. The truce between Ashclan and bloodclan is btoken. Meaning...that they have permission to attack once more. Call me traitor call me a coward. Your right. Maybe i am those. Mbe im not. But i cannot lead this clan anymore. Im just tired of what its become. It was once a clan with no magic. Now we have a drgon and shapeshifters and prophecy cats...im tired of it. Ashclan has fallen to what clans have become today. And i will not have it. <p> now for goodbyes and a few notes. To Wolfheart Starkit and mysteryflower. I love all of you very much and im sorry that i ruined the clan. Mysteryflower i know i promed id never leave again...but unfortunetely i cannot keep that promise. Wolfheart. I hope your life eith bulletspeed will be great and i wish you the best of luck. Starkit. Im so sorry. I really am. You and your dad take care of ach other and Please dont forget that even if i may have abanded the clan i will NEVER EVER stop watching and protecting you. To Dawnwillow. Goodbye old friend. Im sorry about all of this and it being so swift. To soaringhawk. Im sorry that i couldnt be string enough to stay. And im sorry we wont be able to have our talks like we used to. To all else. Im sorry. Thats all i can say. Im sorry. I dont expect yoy to firgive me. I dont expect you to understand what ive been through. You guys can hate me for all i care. But m not coming back. Beartail had said it himself. Ashclan was better when i wasnt leader. And its true. Now to Sparrow. I am proud of what youve become. I know that yiu keep sayingyou could never lead clan and tha your not ready. But i think you are. Or i wouldnt have chosen you as my deputy. Youve stood by this clan even when i havent. And i know you will always. If you want to understand what had happened. You know where to find me. and never lose faith for this clan. Youll make a great leader. Itll be tough. But Ashclans worth it. Goodbye to all of you. And lets hope i wont have to kill you in any raids in the near future. -Sincerely, Kestrelstar

A friend of mine introduced me to this series a while back when he borrowed me the first few books quite a while back and I'm hooked! Johnstone's character Ben Raines is a combination of philosopher and warrior that reminds me of a modern John Wayne. Storyline is excellent, a good read for the open minded and a real treat if you're a bit tired of the way things are here in the U.S. right now.

The Ashes series, of which this is book 7, tells of a possible future earth and the troubles it goes thru. The people trying to protect and reestablish civilization are having a hard time. The political & moral comment on today's society which led to the future are pointed and, im my opinion, accurate. The story line gets a bit bizarre in the series with a hidden cannible society and mutants but is fast paced and interesting. The series, like oll of the Johnstone books is a fast, fun read but don't expect great philosophical thinking. I'm up to book 12 in the series and have enjoyed them all as well as the Western's Johnstone has written. I have them all.
