Meet the Author

I make things up and write them down. Which takes us from comics (like SANDMAN) to novels (like ANANSI BOYS and AMERICAN GODS) to short stories (some are collected in SMOKE AND MIRRORS) and to occasionally movies (like Dave McKean's MIRRORMASK or the NEVERWHERE TV series, or my own short film A SHORT FILM ABOUT JOHN BOLTON).

In my spare time I read and sleep and eat and try to keep the blog at www.neilgaiman.com more or less up to date.

Quick read with a new perspective on snow white

I read this story which is actually a play within 45 minutes. It depicts snow white as an evil vampire. You won't look at snow white the same. If you want a quick read and don't want to pay a lot this is worth a look.

    more from this reviewer

I believe this is my first experience with reading a fairy-tal

I believe this is my first experience with reading a fairy-tale retelling but if other titles in the genre are anything like Snow, Glass, Apples then I will be reading more! I loved how the story of Snow White inspired this dark paranormal/fantasy short story...and I enjoyed reading the "wicked stepmother's" point of view. The good versus evil role reversal in this retelling was quite creative and well done. As always, Neil Gaiman shares his wonderfully horrific imagination with readers. I just love him!

Snow White told in an entirely different light, this blew me off

Snow White told in an entirely different light, this blew me off completely. Odd, creepy and eccentric. Greatly written.
