THE BAYOU'S BADDEST BAD BOY IS BACK!

Joining the Navy was the second best thing that ever happened to Justin "Cage" LeBlanc, the rebel son of a no-account convict. The first was Emelie Gaudet, the love of his life . . . until he was forced to leave town and swore there would be snow on the bayou before he ever returned. Now, only his mortally ill grandma can bring the injured Navy SEAL back to Terrebone Parrish, where he must face his past-and Emelie, who's even more beautiful than she was all those years ago.

Bourbon Street blues singer Emelie is once bitten, twice shy. When she learns that Justin is back in town, she wants nothing to do with the once wild Cajun teenager who fled with the law on his tail-and broke her heart. But she can't deny the red-hot attraction between them . . . or his efforts to prove he's finally changed his hell-raising ways. Can she trust that this time the bad boy of the bayou will be the best man for her?

Hill’s ninth Tante Lulu novel (after So Into You) brings a stereotypical Cajun “Loo-zee-anna” to life with corny dialogue and outsize characters. Louise Rivard, a nonagenarian matchmaker, and her sidekick, a former Miss Louisiana who loves skin-tight clothes, travel to California to inform Navy SEAL Justin LeBlanc that his grandmother is dying of cancer and he needs to come home. Justin left the bayou 17 years earlier, but he still loves his former sweetheart, Emelie Gaudet, a blues singer and maker of Mardi Gras masks. When they meet again, the magic is still there, but secrets from the past threaten tear them apart. As they venture into being friends with benefits, Emelie’s ex-husband alerts Justin to suspicious characters at his pyrotechnics plant, and soon Justin’s SEAL buddies show up to help deter a terrorist plot. Ostensibly Cajun metaphors and mannerisms feel inauthentic and forced, almost to the point of mockery. (Sept.)

I have been waiting for another Tante Lulu book and Sandra Hill did not disappoint.  Not only did we have a Tante Lulu but we had a MeMaw thrown in for added support.  This book has a great Bayou story full of wanting to smack Em's dad, romance, laughter and the Cajun Village people. I love this series and the antics of everything that goes on down in the Bayou. I hope she writes more of this series and brings back some of the new characters we had the pleasure of meeting.  LOVED IT!

I was ready for Hill's New Orleans stories that always feature Tante Lulu and will purchase more as fast as she produces them! While Hill is a busy novelist with other series in the works, I particularly like the Cajun series (New Orleans, Louisiana setting) and SEAL/Viking series (Coronado, California setting) the best. Even though there is a common thread among the characters, one does not need to read the series in any particular order since she weaves the pertinent information into the story-line. As with all her novels, the colorful characters are balanced by neutral ones that provide comic relief throughout the story. Whether through snappy one-liners or descriptive imagery, I was entertained from the beginning to the end in this book, as well, as all of her other books.

Contemporary Romance, Navy SEAL, Part Of A Series, Humorous, Terrorist. This Is A Book About Lost Love, Forgiveness, Family, And Second Chances. It's Well Written With It's Quirky "Cajun" Dialogue, Contains Interesting Characters, And Has A Attention Grabbing Plot.

This reminded me of earlier Sandra Hill books, funny and not so many four letter words. I really enjoyed this book.
