Children's LiteratureThis textured cloth book presents a wonderland of animals that live in snowy places. The polar bear on the cover has a soft black nose and the page crinkles when squeezed. The snowy owl stands out due to his big bright eyes. The penguin has a soft white belly to touch, and moose's antlers are soft and not at all rough. There is a whale, walrus, wolf, seal, and puffin--plenty of creatures for little ones to become acquainted with. All except the bear on the cover are reprised on the back cover. A very nice cloth book that offers several ways to learn--touch, sight, and hearing the name of each animal when the book is shared. It all closes with a Velcro tab and can be surface washed. 2005, St. Martin's Press, Ages 6 mo. to 3.
