Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Mary Sue Preissner
The zany, colorful illustrations leap off the pages of this "New Reader" series, which follows the trail of a little red bug searching for a warm place to snuggle in for the winter. With each new prospect, younger students may chime in with "no way. Oh no no." Chased off by the lamb, duck, dog, and man, the red bug finds his winter resting place hiding in the rug of the farmhouse in front of a crackling fire. My just-turned-three-year-old LOVED this book. She wants it every time we go to the library. We finally decided to buy her a copy of her own. She loves the book's simple, repetitive nature and chimes in 'Oh, no Bug! NO, NO, NO!' whenever he finds a new potential home. She finds it hysterically funny, and pretends the bug is in her hair, too and she shoos him out. Great interactive read for toddlers.
