Descriptive end of the day scenes with the various animals, and how each one winds down their day. Relaxing, rhythmic words with some alliteration that help to set a calming tone. The The artwork is fits perfect with the words and the colors changing as the evening ages into night takes you through the hours with each turn of the page. I love the illustrations ! I enjoy reading this with my son as we wind down during his bed time.

I first purchased this book as part of a baby gift, then I received a copy when I had my daughter. My daughter and I love this book. She's now 2 and it is still a bedtime favorite. I've since bought 4 more copies to give as gifts. The illustrations are beautiful. I was sent a paperback version ( I much prefer the hardcover) for this order so be aware and ensure you order the hardcover. I will continue to give this as a gift as long as I can find it.

I have been reading this book to my little guy for at least a year. Whenever I pull it off the shelf, he leans back and snuggles into my lap for our trip through the Serengeti. The words have great rhythm, rhyme, and alliteration that is very soothing; and the drawings are wonderful. The board book is a great size for one-handed reading and the cover is soft.

Mommy Bookworm's Thoughts: This is a very cute book with wonderful illustrations for anyone who loves animals! I think that even toddlers would enjoy the book because of the illustrations even though they couldn't read the text. It shows the love of families through cute wild animals, which pulls at my heartstrings since I love animals!! Dahlia Bookworm's Thoughts: I like the cute pictures because they show the mom (or dad) and the baby animal. I like how the author wrote different things for each of the animals. I can easily read it by myself. I would recommend it to kids my age and younger. Daisy Bookworm's Thoughts: I like the illustrations. I like how it showed a lot of different animals. I especially like the pictures of the baby animals. I could easily read this book & would recommend it to other kids my age and younger.

My little one loves books and this is one of her favorites. We look a plane trip this winter and out of all the stuff I brought to keep her amused, this book was tops. We read it every night before bed and she has memorized parts already. Sweet story and really cute illustrations.

I love this book. The illustrations are beautiful and the tone is just right for a bedtime book. My baby isn't due until November, but I am very anxious to be able to read this book to her. I expect this will be one of our favorite books!
