Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
“Snutt voyages to a distant planet to discover what he can—wonderful tuffetills, blossibums, and flewimols—only to find that he’s terribly lonely away from home. When he eventually meets a Waft, with whom he can share his beautiful surroundings, Snutt learns the meaning of contentedness. Gorgeously detailed illustrations.” - ForeWord Reviews

“Taking readers from a desperately lonely place to the soaring heights of wonder and excitement, Snutt the Ift provides unparalleled emotion and depth of character. Helen Ward’s beautiful story is partnered with sensational illustrations that invite readers to discover a strange new world. The Gelett Burgess Center is honored to name this outstanding children’s picture book as our Book of the Year.” - Gelett Burgess

"Like all Ifts, Snutt was an explorer.
Unlike all Ifts, Snutt was a dreamer...
and for this reason Snutt travelled further,
and more hopefully, than any other Ift."

A simple story, beautifully told and illustrated by Helen Ward. This is a universal tale of adventure and friendship based on another world, but echoed clearly in our own. My children love to look at the pictures, so it takes twice as long to read this book as any other. Every time they look at it they find something new to wonder at and talk about. I appreciate how gently Ward unveils the message of the importance and magic of friendship.
