Overview

This book is a collection of my all-time favorite stories from working with patients as a medical professional over the past seventeen years. I have witnessed and been a part of some amazing experiences ranging from hilarious to shocking to just plain disgusting. I've told these stories many times at family gatherings, parties, and in conversations with friends, and after much encouragement, have taken the time to write them down before they become distant memories. Each chapter of this book is dedicated to a specific incident, which should give the reader an inside look into the often entertaining world of a health care provider. The names, of course, have been changed to protect the innocent, but I didn't leave out or alter any of the colorful details.

Very original work. The author shares great stories that are both touching and humorous, giving a view into being a practitioner in the medical field while offering insight into the resilience and strength of patients. The author vividly describes amusing and sometimes disgusting aspects of his jobs in x-ray and in treating cancer patients...it's colorful but tastefully done! Also, in this time of economic downtown, high unemployment rates, and perhaps just general disappointment with our lives, it was inspiring to read stories about people who faced difficulties and tragedies -- it really put my perceived troubles into better perspective. A good read, just the right length for curling up in a comfortable chair and enjoying an hour or two of laughter and fun.
