Meet the Author

Barbara is a former teacher who grew up in upstate New York where much of this story takes place. She has researched the advance of the railroads, the Erie canal, and small towns in upstate New York. Barbara has also lived in Germany, Colorado, Ohio, and California, and uses her knowledge and her imagination to bring a sense of adventure, veracity and treachery to her books, as well as romance. She currently lives in Oregon with her husband and their dog, Kiki.
