This book is about Jabber Morris who has his heart set on playing soccer. He thought it was a great sport, and he played it well. The only trouble was that his mother, brother, and uncle all were on him to give up soccer and take up football instead. Only his sister was on his side, claiming that just because their father had been a star football player was no reason why Jabber had to be one too. Jabber felt guilty about not agreeing with his mother. His dad had recently been killed in a freak auto accident, and by not playing football Jabber felt he was somehow not honoring his father¿s memory. A though situation is mad even more difficult when suspicion of stealing a wallet falls on Jabber¿s shoulders. The wallet belonged to Jabber¿s brother, Pete, so Jabber doesn¿t tell him. Now he has to tell his family that he has decided to play soccer once and for all and convince Pete he did not steal his wallet. But will either accept what he says? If you like a good story crammed with plenty of soccer action, you¿re sure to like this book ¿Soccer Halfback¿. My favorite part of the book was when Jabber finally told his family that he chose to play soccer. I strongly recommend this book to all of you, even if you do not like soccer. I think that this book deserves four stars out of five.

This book is about a boy named Jabber Morris. This boys problem is he can not decide to play soccer or football. His brother Pete and his family love football and want him to play. His brother Pete is also a football star. Jabber is really good at soccer and has many friends that play it too. He doesnt know what he should do? I would also recommend this book for kids about 11-14 year olds.

The fictional novel Soccer Half Back by Matt Christopher was a story set in the United States during the present time. The story begins with a boy named Jabber who loves to play soccer, and he plays on a team called The Nuggets. Jabber's friend Mose was on his soccer team. In a big game Jabber had two goals with three minutes remaining until the second half. The score was now Nuggets 2 and, Razor Backs 1. Then the Nuggets won that game and Jabber realized how much he liked soccer. One day Jabber's brother Pete lost his wallet, and he thought Jabber took it. When Jabber found the wallet, the money was gone. Now Jabber had to prove that he did not take it, and that he could still be on the soccer team. Soccer Half Back had some positives and some negatives. All characters are nice to each other. An example is on page 19 when Jabber tells his brother Pete that one of the guys on the soccer team let him use his soccer shoes Jabber wanted to play soccer but his hole family wanted him to play football. The plot of the story kept on going up and down. I also want to say that this was a great book to read. There was not enough description. There wasn't also a very good setting. There was also not a lot of talk about the setting. The plot kept on going up and down.
