    If you're not going to hire a social media specialist like Jennifer Mathews' Top Tier Media and plan to do your own internet marketing, you must read Social Media for Business Owners by Jennifer Mathews. It's an awesome instructive manual on how to navigate the world of social media to grow your business.

    Jennifer offers an info-packed plan for using the daunting world of social media in the modern marketplace. She selects the most prominent and effective social media and provides advice and tips on how to use them effectively. It's almost like having her sitting next to you as you cruise the internet. Her details on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Linked-in, Yelp, and Pinterest are invaluable.

    Because smart phones are so common, Jennifer discusses the importance of including SMS mobile marketing in a successful marketing plan.

    I knew nothing abut Pinterest until I read about it in Social Media for Business Owners. I now have 21 boards and hundreds who followers them daily. I have also plunged into Twitter and Facebook and use them as promotional outlets.

    I found this book to be easy to understand and helpful when trying to navigate the world of social media. I love how it points out that you need to have REALISTIC goals and you cannot consider social media a panacea for the masses. It also emphasizes many of the reasons that it is not wise to just hire a young intern to do the job: you need to have someone who is capable of posting regular, quality content, who understands what your customers want, who can listen to the problems of your customers, answer their questions, and have a positive impact on your fan base.
