Overview

On Nov. 18, 1993, a 9 year old little girl was abducted while walking near her St. Ann home. Nine days after her disappearance, two hunters in St. Charles County found her partially naked body duct taped to a tree. The little girl had been sexually assaulted. Law enforcement suspected that she was alive when she was left tied to the tree and that she ultimately died of exposure to the elements. This little girl’s murder is still unsolved. Throughout American history, serial killers have both fascinated and horrified people. Most of the time, they appear to be seemingly harmless people who look like an average person with a regular job. There have been many serial killers who have lived among ordinary American people since the beginning of time. As a youngster, I was the victim of my half brothers torture and abuse. Many years later he was arrested and convicted of kidnap and rape. He was the Bartow Florida mall rapist. That set me on the path to write the book you are about to read now. My intent here is to present to you published research that I have gathered from different sources including the Internet, many police reports, state and county records as well as many editorials that were gathered from various news sources. My hope is that this book will help people to look carefully at their own personal surroundings and possibly stop tragedies before they occur. I hope the value proposition from this book is beneficial to my readers.

    Social Slaughter in America

I actually did not know about this book. I bought and read Popsicle Toes. But then noticed Ms Vitasek had another book here so i bought and read this one as well. This story is more like a documentary but very informative of what is going on all around us now. I personally think this kind of criminal mayhem has been going on since the beginning of time but is now just more highly publicized. Anyway, this was a very good and informative read as well as Popsicle Toes and i recommend both books. Very good.

I found a business card about this book in the library and decided to read it

I also read the other book called popsicle toes as well. Popsicle toes is a tragic and shocking story of child rape and incest. This book social slaughter in america is more like a docu drama story. Both books a very good reads. Both will scare and shock you as you read them. Very good.

POOR ATTEMPT TO BOOST THE RATINGS

Nearly all of the positive reviews are from someone with "sue" in the pen-name, others with "nook," or Anonymous. I bought Ms. Vitasek's first book and while poorly-written, it was *her* story and was about a life that no one should ever have to live. The rather obvious fake reviews (all of the same grammar, punctuation (or lack of it), and even content) are off-putting and I will not be purchasing this.

    more from this reviewer

    Lacking

I had high hopes for this book and based on the other reviews, I purchased and read it. First let me say that it was evident early on that Anne is not a professional writer, which is fine, but she could use some assistance. Her thoughts were all over the place and many of the same facts were mentioned throughout the book, often in odd places.
I also expected a unique prospective given where she came from and her life experiences. This is where the book was really lacking. We have all seen shows, or read books about serial killers and this book just regurgitated the facts that most of us already know. However, Anne did also find ways to contradict many of her own points. "most serial killers are or do (blank), but many also are or do (opposite of blank)".
I have no knowledge of her other book, but at this point I believe I will pass.
