Each book con tains a clear table of contents, a section entitled ``Words You Should Know'' with pronunciations and definitions and a useful index. The texts are large and widely spaced to entice beginning read ers. Almost every page has one or more glossy color photographs or diagrams to illustrate and explain the concepts covered in the text. Kennedy Space Center does a fine job in placing the physical location of the Center and in explaining the difference between Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island. The text also covers a brief history of the space pro gram. There are marvelous color pho tographs of space shuttles Discovery and Columbia at lift-off.
