Editorial Reviews

Laurel Johnson
“Soldier Of The Legion by Marshall S. Thomas is an epic science fiction novel. Set in
the far-flung future, Soldier Of The Legion chronicles the struggles of a brave squad of Legionnaires who must fight to survive horrific battles against a corrupt, slave-raiding
empire—and a far worse force of inhumans. A perilous, exciting space saga, Soldier Of The Legion is enthusiastically recommended reading for fans of the science fiction action/adventure genre.”
Nancy Mehl
“Soldier Of The Legion is a deep, rich story that captures the heart of Sci-fi while bringing the elements of suspense, mystery, horror, and romance together and blending them into a perfect story that everyone will enjoy. Thomas's talent as a writer shines through the action, making the dialogue captivating, and in many passages, moving.”
Nth Degree
“Soldier of the Legion draws on a rich tradition of military science fiction—from Heinlein to Haldeman to Epic Comics’ Alien Legion..Thomas has put a lot of consideration into the technology, weaponry, and tactics of his futuristic Legion and it pays off in what is an epic testosterone-driven military adventure.”
Thunder Child
“Thomas has created an intense view of the future, designed and populated over twenty years worth of work. If you like military science fiction in the style of the classic pulps, chances are you'll enjoy this series.”

    Avoid, not worth it

"Die, you slime!!" This, coming from the "immortal" soldier from the far far future who has traveled light years to do battle on an alien planet. I literally stopped and rolled my eyes after reading this line.

Hand-fired "mini-nukes" that somehow don't fry everyone with radiation?! A race of, what else?, people-eating psychic aliens that just happen to use the same rifle ammunition as humanity?!?

Quite possibly one of the worst books I've read in quite a while; I wish I could not only get a refund but also purge this book from my memory.

One of the best science fiction novels out there!

I was drawn into reading this book at least two hours a day because it was soooo interesting! However, there are some errors with the text. Some of the words, I would say about 10 or so, were not displayed all the way because they got cut off. Other than those thight errors, Soldier of the Legion kept me interested and on the edge of my seat every moment that I was reading it. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes science fiction novels, future military based readings or space and alien adventures!

First time reading book by Marshall S. Thomas. Great Author. F

First time reading book by Marshall S. Thomas. Great Author. Follows the "traditional" military sci-fi genre.
Excellent nook book. Was about one-third of the way in the story and decided to go ahead and order the entire series. Would recommend it to all those who love a good futuristic "boots on the ground" military science fiction story.

    Looks stupid.

I love the blatant rip off of the MA5C and ODST combat armor from the Halo series.

    Awful.... heres why

Awful. Sums it up on one word. Interesting primise but the writing is just awful. It hits up all the most overused words in literature over and over again, i dont evem want to count how many times things were compared to angels. Finally to top it off with a lack of character development. Most readers will also find it confusing because of the lack of imformation regarding pretty much anything or times when the author contradicts himself. It had promise the story just fell short.
