On A Crash Course With Love
She was the woman of pararescue jumper Manny Pena's dreams. But he'd stuck his foot in his mouth the last time he met Celia Munoz. Now, grounded after a parachuting accident, he was desperate to make amends with the beautiful widow. But Celia wasn't having it. The last thing she needed was another man with a dangerous job--even if he had given his life to God. Yet Manny's growing commitment to her and her troubled son began to convince her that perhaps she should take her own leap of faith.

A well written and entertaining story

I actually enjoyed this story even more than the first book in this series. I thought the characters were more developed and the storyline more fleshed out. For those who are clueless about military speak, there is less of it in this book so the reader doesn't get too bogged down by terms they don't understand. Celia and Manny have great chemistry together and it shows right from the beginning of the story. There's a lot of spice in that relationship as the two banter from the get go and then soon learn to mesh their different ways together. Javier's story is very interesting as well as it helps to bring Celia and Manny together. Although I don't think it was very smart of him to keep a pipe in his house no matter how good his intentions were. He should have realized it was bound to be found with the wrong assumptions being brought up. There is a lot about the importance of forgiveness in this book, as every character has to deal with a situation that involves it. Overall this was a lovely story that is perfect for a rainy day when you want to curl up with a sweet romance. Another solid effort from Cheryl Wyatt and I'll be looking forward to her next book!

I was hoping Cheryl Wyatt's second book would be about Celia and Manny. I wanted those two to be together from the minute they met in A Soldier's Promise, Book #1 of her Wings of Refugse series. I got my wish. Of course by the end of A Soldier's Promise, Celia and Manny had managed to go to war with each other. What more could you hope for in a good love story? A Soldier's Family is funny and intense and wise by turns. I loved the way Manny interacted with Javiar, Celia's trouble son. And the deft touch Wyatt has to show how desperately Javiar needed a male role model in his life. The three of them, Celia, Manny and Javiar make up one of the best families I've read about in a while. And there has GOT to be a book three, I can't wait!
