Editorial Reviews

My eleven-year-old gymnast daughter grabbed this book first. She enjoyed reading about famous gymnasts such as Nadia Comaneci, Mary Lou Retton, and Kerri Strug. She also enjoyed all the photographs sprinkled throughout the book. She thought the book was a little too easy and didn't cover the topics as completely as she would have liked. When I reminded her that this book is actually written for much younger girls (second and third graders), she said she would highly recommend it, and could I please "finish what I needed to do with it quickly, so she could have it back?" We both highly recommend this book for young gymnasts or wannabe gymnasts. 2000, Random House Children's Books, $3.99. Ages 5 to 10. Reviewer: S. Latson SOURCE: Parent Council Volume 8
