Solving the Mind-Body Mystery (why do some people lose their words?)

Are You Mind-First or Body-First?

All truth starts in your mind and body. Together, they shape your every thought and deed. Yet for four hundred years, no one's been able to tell us the true nature of these two "brains." Why does this matter? Because we function best when our mind and body are in sync. When they're not, we become susceptible to everything from addictions and learning disabilities to relationship problems and child rearing dilemmas.

Then there's the thing about the two kinds of people-mind-first people and body-first people. Mind-first people process life first in their minds, as words; body-first people, as sensations in their bodies. Because minds think and process words more quickly than bodies, the world assumes mind-first people are smarter. Ironically, because body-first people process life more slowly, while they take longer to find their words, they generally process things more carefully and thoroughly.

In this book, you'll learn it's your sense of time that creates your experience of a separate mind and body. And that knowing this opens a path to self-discovery.

About the Author

Steven Paglierani is an author, educator, psychotherapist, and film maker whose work describes the world through the lens of the autism spectrum. As a licensed therapist, he teaches others-especially those who fall outside the norm and find it hard to fit in-to stop imitating normal and to be themselves. He's authored the first "natural" theory of personality, using fractals to blamelessly describe human nature. He's also built and raced Shelby Mustangs, been mentioned in Rolling Stone as a singer/song writer, and designed his best friend's home as a wedding gift.
