Overview

Mackenzie Wyatt believes in two things: herself and her plan. And her plan is to keep her head down and to work hard until she can retire. Never mind that she doesn't know what she'll do once she retires– at least she won't be working for the man anymore. Because even though he's a gorgeous man, he's still her boss and he likes to push her buttons.

Ethan Howell O'Connor's charmed life comes to a screeching halt after his latest ex-girlfriend starts a fashionable trend in talking to the tabloids. Now all of Ethan's old girlfriends are talking to the press, ruining his reputation, and wiping that charming smile right off his face. The only person who can brighten his black mood is the same person who can annoy him to kingdom come. He and Mackenzie have feuded since the day she was hired but now Ethan's starting to realize: maybe those sparks were hiding a blazing fire.

Mackenzie's about to find out that sometimes a gorgeous man can come up with a plan all his own, and it's a given that it'll mess hers up.

Mackenzie and Ethan are just drop down hilarious. The amount of charm, wit and sarcasm adds the perfect amount of flare into the story. Oh and of course the romance. Very well written and a very enjoyable read indeed.

Snappy, sometimes sizzling, dialog. Well written story line and CHARMING characters. Who wouldn't be CHARMED by Ethan and even though I found MacKenzie somewhat hard and negative in the beginning, once she "fell" she was CHARMING as well. Couldn't put this little romance tale down and read it in an afternoon while the gardening waited!

An enjoyable read. I loved the snappie dialog between the two main characters. The plot was nicely fleshed for it to be only 136 pages.

A wonderful, funny and fast paced romance story. I had finished another book before starting this one about 11 PM last night. I was so engrossed in it I couldn't stop reading until I finally had to close it at 3:30 am. The laughs started immediately and continuously throughout the book. This is one of the funniest books I have read in a very long time. Two people who happen to be boss/employee live to throw barbs at each other. When a girlfriend suddenly found she was n ex-girlfriend decided to seek revenge by going to the trashy newspapers and giving a negative interview along with lies about him. Soon many other ex-girlfriends jumped on the bandwagon. Because he was a multi-billionaire and owned an important company he needed the negative reports to stop. His solution - get the one employee who lived to throw barbs at him to agree to a fake engagement for a short period of time thus the rags would leave him alone. This could and would work because she would never fall in love with him and he wouldn't fall for her either. The one negative for me - the cover could have had a better looking couple on it.

Mackenzie's boss, Ethan, is so charming. Everybody thinks so. But Mackenzie is the only one not buying it. She's the only one that tells it like it is right to his face. The brother-sister relationship between the two was refreshing. Things get a little inappropriate at a softball game with all the touching and all. Being voted as an "eligible bachelor," Ethan is constantly followed by papparazzi, and wouldn't you know it that somebody would take a picture of Ethan grabbing Mackenzie's butt? But when he goes public with a fake engagement--WHAT!? Of course, Mackenzie, being the fire-pistol that she is, doesn't take the news with grace. I liked that she doesn't fall for his "charm," but pity is the thing that gets to her, which is why she decided to go along with it. And that's when she starts to feel something for this man, this beautiful, charming man. A fun and engaging short novel! You'll love this modern-day Pretty Woman story!

I had a good time reading this tale. Funny, charming and fireworks.

This book has a very hard headed, independent female and the male is as stubborn. Can certainly be read as stand alone but I cannot see anyone not wanting to continue.

Sort of repetitive and always ended up with sex as a fix for all of their issues. OK for free.
