Mindy Menlove lives in a castle that was transported stone-by-stone from Scotland. But when her fiancé dies in scandal and Mindy decides to sell the gloomy estate, her plans unravel. She must travel to the Hebrides, where she's confronted by the castle's original builder-who happens to be maddeningly irresistible and seven hundred years young.

Bran of Barra was a legendary chieftain. Since then he's enjoyed his ghostly pleasures, until Mindy's appearance disrupts them. Now, if the roguish Bran doesn't change Mindy's mind about his bonny homeland-and himself-neither of them will ever find any peace.

This is a fun romantic ghost story

MacNeil's Folly is a medieval castle that was moved one stone at a time from Scotland to New Hope, Pennsylvania. Accompanying the relocation from the Isle of Barra are irate family ghosts who want MacNeil's Tower back in the Hebrides and not as some fool of a descendant's placing it in America.

Mindy Menlove lives in this mausoleum, which explains why thermal underwear is a big seller in Scotland. She plans to sell the castle that she inherited from her late cheating fiancé over the objection of her sister. However, Mindy fears she is losing her mind when ghosts appear extorting her to return the castle to Scotland; except one the MacNeil Chieftain, Bran of Barra, who warns her to stay away from his homeland. Instead Mindy travels to Barra only to find enchantment and love with Bran who reciprocates, but also knows time will never heal their seven century displacement.

This is a fun romantic ghost story in which the spirits live a spirited lifestyle. The cast makes the tale entertaining as the ghosts play matchmakers as does her sibling. Bran knows she is his eternal love, but accepts nothing on earth can bring them together forever. Mindy wants nothing to do with cold Scottish islands until she arrives to find her heart warming and toes curling. Fans will enjoy this fun frolic as the ghost and the mortal find love in their mausoleum.

The spirit is willing...and oh, so sexy!

Author Allie Mackay provided me with a delightful treat of a read in "Some Like it Kilted"! Written with sexy supernatural style and great humor, this book made me smile from the first page to the very end. Who could resist a big, brawny and boldly beautiful Highland hunk such as Bran of Barra! I couldn't--and neither could the spirited heroine, Mindy Menlove! With his auburn hair, blue eyes, and unabashedly potent masculinity, Bran made us both his conquests. Never mind that he is a seven hundred years old ghost! When Mindy's faithless fiance dies, she unexpectedly inherits his estate, an ancient Scottish castle that was dismantled in Scotland and reconstructed in Pennsylvania. Mindy's plans to sell the castle are thwarted by an angry clan of Highland haunts who want their home restored to its rightful setting. Persuaded by their threats to make her life miserable with their ghostly visitations, Mindy agrees to restore the castle to the Scottish shores. When she meets the most disturbing spirit of all, Bran of Barra, he is not a nightmare. He is a passionate dream come true--in the flesh! Bran has the ability to materialize in human form, and the feelings he stirs in Mindy are out of this world! Can this medieval chieftain, who has long presided over his own ghostly realm, and this modern-day, all-too-human woman find a way to live and love together? Allie Mackay will charm you into believing anything is possible! I look forward to the reading the sequel, "Must Love Kilts" which features the story of Mindy's sister, Margo. I know that I am in store for another reader's treat!

    Kilts R US?

Excellent read! Totally enjoyed it. Allie is a master story teller as well as a talented writer! I was mesmerized from page 1. These stories should be in hard cover. If you haven't discovered Allie Mackay by now you're missing something. If you love paranormal and need a break from vampires & werewolves, Allie's ghosties are a welcome change. Some Like It kilted, has everything; great lovable characters, castles, Scotland, and the ghost of a Highland chieftain. This story carries you from New Hope, Pennsylvania, (which I must say is a real place as well as an excellent setting for this story), to the Hebrides of Scotland. Mindy Menlove lives in a castle transported from Scotland to Pennsylvania by a deceased boyfriend who left the place to her. Wow! (Will this guy come back to haunt us someday too?) Mindy got a little more than she bargained for when a ghostly trio takes it upon themselves to haunt the poor girl. With a haunting akin to ghostly blackmail, Mindy is forced to travel to Scotland, not one of her favorite places, to return her relic of a home to its original owner(s). But she never expected to find a man larger than (after)life waiting for her on the other side. Absolutely thrilling from beginning to end. And guess what? Allie's next book involves Mindy's sister. I can't wait.
