We tend to gloss over history forgetting that great events are the accomplishments of real people, like us! This book is like adding spice to the sauce. Don't miss this one!

I was captivated from the very first page. Gives short biographies of both the North and South persons during the Civil War. The biography's were short and to the point. It they has been longer and more detailed I would have lost interest. However I really enjoyed this book and found it very informative.

...but short on copy editing/proofreading. Overlapping of spouse stories a bit irritating. But history is enriched by knowing the people who made it, so this is a helpful entry on the shelves of Civil War books.

Brought History to life, thank-you - & we're hoping for more of your insightful, fresh, enlighteniing backgrounds on people, places, & events from this pivotal, turbulent period in the nation we know today as the United States of America! You've penned a fitting tribute to many key Players from that era - quite timely for this, its 150th Anniversary Commemoration; brava, Ms. Graham!
