WHEN A COWBOY MEETS AN HEIRESS...

Cash Hardeman thought he'd have all the time in the world to find the right woman...until he discovered that his gold digging step-grandmother will inherit the family ranch if he's not married by his 30th birthday. With the deadline just around the corner and no prospects in sight, Cash knows it's only a matter of time before he loses everything. But when Boston beauty Annelise blows into his life, Cash can't help but wonder if she's what he's been looking for all along.

Giving her bodyguards and the paparazzi the slip, heiress Annelise Montjoy has come to Maverick Junction on a life-or-death mission. But living incognito in the small Texas town is nothing like she expected, and she's finding it difficult to keep her identity a secret--especially with a rough and tumble cowboy like Cash tempting her. It's not long before Annelise starts to wonder if she's finally found the man who can love her for herself rather than her money. But will Annelise's secrets catch up with her before she and Cash can ride off into the Texas sunset?

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Take a rich girl going incognito, a handsome rancher struggling with the mess his grandfather left behind, and a small Texas town with just enough quirky characters, and you have the solid—if unsurprising—first title in Austin's new "Maverick Junction" series. Annelise Montjoy has come to Maverick Junction on a mission. Her beloved grandfather is ill, and Annelise hopes to find the one person who can help him. Her hopes of remaining unnoticed are immediately thwarted by Cash Hardeman, who wouldn't mind being distracted for a while by the beautiful Annelise. VERDICT Fans of Robyn Carr's "Virgin River" series will snap up this title. [Xpress Reviews, 11/9/12.]—Jane Jorgenson, Madison P.L., WI

Oh lordy. If you've ever liked a cowboy, wanted to like a cowboy, or even if you hate cowboys, you will love this book. I was drawn in one page one and already swooning on page two. No joke.
I also completely blame Lynnette Austin for the 35 new "Hot Cowboy" Pinterest boards I started following after reading this book.

I'll be honest, I don't always like romance novels. Why? Because so many of them are cheesy or unbelievable. Lynnette has this realistic, descriptive, and imaginative way of writing where you soak up all the details without even realizing it. And then before you know it, you forget you're reading altogether and instead, you're watching it play out in your head.
Plus, I will guiltily admit that I love the fact that the main character Annelise is headstrong and independent. And she drive's a motorcycle. I'm all about independent women, and Annelise is all that and more.

I really liked this book. Read it. You wont regret it.

    Review:

"Somebody Like You" by Lynnette Austin was a beautifully told story of "When a Cowboy Meets
an Heiress." This was the first of this series 'Maverick Junction' for this author. If you like cowboy reads that offers you it all in a small town then this one will not be a disappointment to you because this novel really draws you into the story starting at page one. This author presents a beautiful romance story that is so very believable and realistic. I really loved the author descriptions all the way through this story making it seem you are right there in it being so 'vivid and so insightful.' The characters Annelise Montjoy and Cash Hardeman along with some others are all so well developed, captivating and intriguing in this well written story. I don't want to give anything away other than to say you must pick up "Somebody Like You" because it is truly a wonderful romance novel of two people finding each other in this fantastic read. The only thing that is left to say is after reading this enjoyable novel you will be ready for the next series...'Nearest Thing To Heaven.'

Recommend Definitely - A must read!!

I am about to indulge into the next book. Similar characteristics of
Nicholas Sparks writings which I sincerely enjoy. This was a no put down
book until finished. I thoroughly was surprised at the outcome of my
quick pick and would suggest the read.

    Beautiful Story

When I bought this book I thought I was buying a "fluff" piece... When I started reading it I still thought it was "fluff"... But, believe me this is not the lease bit "fluffy"... This is a wonderfully written book with very deep emotions and a very real love story... I have a thing for tall, sexy cowboys but in this case Cash was anything but a typical cowboy... Sexy in blue jeans and elegant in his tuxedo, he was something very special... Annie's grandfather needed help from his half sister to survive... Annie was determined to make it happen... That she was richer than rich didn't matter and riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle only hinted at the woman she was... You had to wonder how this one would end so by all means grab a copy and find out... It will be well worth your time...

Annelise Montjoy is on a single-minded quest to save a life. She needs to hide her true identity if she hopes to succeed. What she doesn't expect is to fall head over heels for a Texas cowboy in the form of Cash Hardeman, owner of Whispering Pines Ranch. In order to accomplish her task, and at the same time learn a whole lot about herself, she can't be honest with Cash. He's got his own secret in the form of his late grandfather's will and trying to cope with the grasping Las Vegas showgirl who got her hooks in the old man shortly before he died. Cash and Annie come from two different worlds. They both have responsibilities and people who depend on them.

This story will keep you on edge. You'll want to reach through the pages and shake some sense into these lovable, exasperating characters. I'm ready for the next Whispering Pines adventure.

    Charming

A really nice read. It did get a little long-winded occassionally with the main characters thoughts but overall kept me interested. The secondary characters were really interesting without overpowering the main characters. This story really rated a 4 1/2 stars.

    What a sterling scorcher!

I was hooked from the first chapter and the momentum never ebbed! Annie and Cash - wow, so real with chemistry that does knock your boots off! The descriptions of Texas, the characters and the interplay of relationships were right on to the point that a marathon read is all you can do as you embrace these real people and their lives!

Can't wait for the next two in the series!
