Chloe Winters is a normal everyday girl, and she likes it that way. All she wants to do is finish college at the University of Mexico and pursue a career as a forensic scientist. She also wants to put her traumatic childhood past behind her. But that all changes when her friends Lori and Matthew convince her to go on an audition to be an extra on the set of the new Jason Vanderholt movie that is being filmed on their college campus. Chloe is far from being starstruck or a fan of the Hollywood actor, but that doesn't deter Jason when he is taken by Chloe and wants to get to know her better. And that's when Chloe's life turns upside down ... or maybe it will turn out to be her fairytale after all!




Someone Else's Fairytale is an entertaining story that is more than just your average romance between a normal everyday girl and famous guy. In the first book of the Someone Else's Fairytale series, author E.M. Tippetts weaves an intriguing tale of romance and relationships. Written in the first person narrative, the reader follows along with Chloe Winters as she experiences life issues and deals with a traumatic past, and learns to open herself up to love, relationships, and help from people.




This story has a nice mixture of romance and suspense with twists and turns that draw the reader into Chloe and Jason's story. I loved that the author has created characters who have flaws and a past that they have to overcome. Their strength and ability to overcome adversity and move forward with their lives makes the story that much more interesting. I loved how the author slowly developed Chloe and Jason's relationship, and while it wasn't all wine and roses, theirs is a heartwarming romance with realistic ups and downs.




Someone Else's Fairytale has a little bit of everything in it from drama, to light humor, to family issues to love. It's a fast paced entertaining read that engages the reader, while leaving them wanting more ... which is exactly what the reader will get when the story continues in the sequel, Nobody's Damsel.

Holy moly. I had to stay up until 3am to finish this story!!! Chloe and Jason are such a cute couple. This story was romantic, sad at times, and realistic. I loved it!!! I can't wait to read more of her stories.

Someone Else's Fairytale is a charming story about Chloe Winters, a soon to be university graduate who inadvertently and almost reluctantly falls head over heels for Jason Vanderholt, Hollywood's hottest actor. 
Chloe isn't your average young adult, having a broken family and traumatic near death experience at a very young age almost guaranteed her lack of trust and a maturity beyond her years.
Chloe first meets Jason when she volunteers to be an extra on his movie set. Jason is instantly intrigued by the girl who doesn't automatically swoon at his feet. Chloe is not impressed (and not afraid to show it) and offers Jason the only thing she is willing to give; her friendship.
The story progresses with the development of Jason and Chloe's friendship as well as the addition of Chloe's friend Matthew complicating the mix. 
We learn about Chloe's background, Jason's hectic lifestyle and tabloid tales and also his loveable family.
Jason declares his feelings for Chloe but doesn't get the answer he is hoping for;  “It's not my fairytale. It's not anything I ever wanted....I don't want to be the envy of every other woman on the planet....This is someone else's fairytale.”
They say absence makes the heart grow fonder and it is true in this case, as Jason films a movie, Chloe has time to reflect and realises just how much she misses Jason after all. She takes a leap of faith and opens her heart to the man she can no longer deny she loves.
I won't say much about the ending as it is best to read this to discover it for yourself but what I will say is this; in the end it is up to us to write our own fairy tales.


I enjoyed reading this story. I'm glad it wasn't the normal "Mega Movie Star" falls for "Little Miss Nobody" storyline. Someone Else's Fairytale provided character depth. Jason was more than a huge star and at times I felt sorry for the lack of freedom he had in his own life. Chloe was confident character. She had been through a lot in her short life and came out the other side as a survivor. At times I did feel Chloe could be a little naive when it came to Matthew and Jason and I felt her actions and dialogue portrayed her younger than her 21 years.
I liked the involvement of Jason's family and the relationship between Kyra and Chloe and also the journey Chloe and her own mother went on through the book.
I preferred the slow build of Chloe and Jason's relationship and there wasn't any of this 'insta-love' although I felt it was going a little too slow at times and I wanted to say to Chloe 'go get him already!'
I felt the ending of the book didn't match the overall pace and it seemed a little rushed. I was pleased with the ending but would have liked to have read in greater detail about the events that had taken place.
Overall this was a good book. The different dimensions of the characters and the events within took you on a worthwhile journey. I am interested to read where the story goes from here.

I love happy books!

I really enjoyed this book! I love happy books! And I was so happy reading this book (most of the time). I read this book every free chance I had...it pained me to have to put it down to do other things. I just wanted to read it and see how it turned out in the end. I laughed out loud, smile constantly, and actually squealed with delight at a certain point.

I loved Chloe Winters's character and integrity. She had been through so much yet she didn't end up as a screw up like so many in her situation might have. She knows who she is and what she wants to do. It was refreshing to read a strong female character that didn't rely on the guy even though that guy wanted her to so much. Chloe was also chaste and had no qualms about having "The Talk" with any guy she was dating. She had her convictions and morals and she stuck to them even when desire tried to talk her out of them. And she is "normal"...not some "fangirl" or fame stalker. Her nonchalance at the whole "I'm dating a celebrity" was humorous and sweet.

Jason Vanderholt was a great character as well. I totally expected him to bolt on Chloe at some point, especially after "The Talk". But he is so genuine, kind, and he got his fairytale ending. You wouldn't expect a guy...especially a hot Hollywood actor...would want the ending that he wanted but he did and that just endeared him so much in my eyes. I rooted for Jason the whole way through this book even though he seemed the unlikely suitor.

Lori and Matthew are Chloe's two good friends at the University of New Mexico. Lori is also Chloe's roommate. She is the typical roommate/friend and a huge fan of Jason Vanderholt of course. She didn't have a huge role to play in this book and she didn't even know Chloe's past but you could tell she was a good friend of Chloe's. I wasn't a fan of Matthew. At first, I thought he was a great friend who truly wanted more than friendship from Chloe. Later, I thought otherwise much to my dismay.

Would I recommend it: I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys chick lit and happy endings. I would also recommend because it is a clean book - no sex scenes, no swearing - and there isn't a lot of chick lit (that I have found) that is truly clean.

Will I read it again: I probably will. It was a book that left me happy, smiling, and rather giddy at the end.

22-year-old Chloe doesn’t have the most structured of backgrounds, but now she’s on track to be valedictorian. Until she graduates, she has no intentions of having a sexual relationship with anyone; she doesn’t need the stress, she doesn’t want to have a child out of wedlock like her mother did, and she also has no intentions of becoming involved with a movie star.

Jason has been in several movies, and now has a fan group full of semi-crazy, crying girls. It’s Chloe that he likes though, and he’s happy just being her friend if it means that he gets to spend time with her.
Can Chloe and Jason ever be together though? Their backgrounds are so different, and Chloe doesn’t want to be followed by the press for the rest of her life. Can this fairytale ever be what Chloe dreams of?


This was an interesting romance, where not everything was sunshine and laughter, and bad things happen to good people. Chloe has a complicated background, whilst Jason has fame to follow him around, and not everything is as it seems.

Chloe was a strong female lead but I did feel that some of her ideas and principles were fairly rigid and maybe even a little too severe. She didn’t believe in sex before marriage – fair enough, she wants to focus on her education – fair enough, but don’t then be surprised if your ex-boyfriend broke up with you because he wanted sex and you wouldn’t go there.
She didn’t want Jason to pay for stuff for her, and felt bad even accepting something small like a coffee from him, I mean I understand that she wanted to be independent, and didn’t want him to treat her like he owned her, but the bloke is a movie-star for goodness sake! I’m sure she could have accepted something from him, when he offered, even if only to make his life easier, especially when it was something that would keep her safe, or mean that she could see Jason more frequently. I think Chloe maybe took this ‘independent woman’ thing a little too far, who doesn’t want a man to treat her like a princess occasionally?

I liked Jason, although I felt sorry for him that Chloe dragged her heels so much, and made things like keeping her safe from crazy fans more difficult. I don’t think you can really blame a bloke for wanting his girlfriend safe and nearby. He did go a little nuts at one point when one of his co-stars was pretending that he was having an affair with her, but I could forgive him for that as if Chloe had believed her things could have been very different!

I was really disappointed with Chloe’s friend Matthew’s behaviour. I thought that they were good together, and at one point I even thought that Chloe and Matthew would make a better pair than Chloe and Jason, but the way that Matthew then behaved towards Chloe was awful, and I really disliked him for it.

Although this was a romance, Chloe and Jason were not ‘fated’ to be with one another. They had to work hard at their relationship, and it wasn’t all some kind of fairytale, which made things a bit more realistic. There was also a lot of movie-stuff in the book that made that part of the storyline more interesting and ‘real’ too.

Overall; an interesting and realistic contemporary romance.

I loved this book!

Great story, very well told! I liked the characters and loved how we get to see "real life" doesnt always look hollywood pretty...but it can still be good! Really loved the twist in the love story...just really liked this book, and found myself missing the characters when it was over. Loved!
