I had never heard of Ari Hest before, but I'm so glad I gave his CD a chance. All the songs are good, especially "Anne Marie", which I listen to over and over and over again. I enjoy listening to this entire CD, no skipping. Hest has a mellow sound, but he has some upbeat tempos too, and his voice is always a pleasure to listen to. I'm considering getting a second copy so I can have one for work and one for home. "Consistency" may draw comparisons to a more well-known artist, Dave Matthews, but I contend that people before Dave Matthews used this song format and will continue to use it, especially now that it's popular. Besides, Hest brings his own unique style to the format with great results. I say, Keep your eye on Ari Hest. I wish him success.

"Someone To Tell" is a beautiful album by a very talented artist. Ari Hest does an amazing job in taking you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. From the up-tempo, guitar-driven "Consistency" to the sensitive, heart felt "Anne Marie" Ari doesn't disappoint. While "They're On to Me" "Fascinate You" "Aberdeen" and "Not For Long" are more on the pop side, Ari draws you in with his sensitve side through songs such as "Strangers Again" "Monsters" "When Everything Feels Wrong" and "Someone to Tell." Other songs include "Fond Farwell," a self-reflecting mastery, and "Holding On," a song that I'm sure many of us can relate to in our relationships. His meaningful and autobiographical lyrics are done justice only by his rich baritone voice, which can have you up and rocking out at one moment or on the verge of tears in the next. Although most of the songs on this album has previously been released on Ari's independent label, he does a great job in revamping and polishing up the songs for his major debut with Columbia. In the midst of the singer-songerwriter craze, it is easy to compare Ari to John Mayer and Jason Mraz; however, Ari is Ari and his music is unique to him. He delievers sensitivity with an edge. I think it would be safe to say this record is definitely worth your time and hard earned $$$. Try it out and I promise you won't regret it.

Ari Hest did a great job with this record. I heard about him when he was scheduled to play at my sister's college's spring fling. Anyway if you like singer/songwriters, give this album a listen.

Ari Hest is an unbelievably talented singer/songwriter. His lyrics have the power to touch everyone because you feel like he is singing about something you have experienced. His album has a mix of all kinds of songs from slow heart-touching ballads, to jazzy upbeat songs. You will not be dissapointed with his CD! Along with getting the CD, check out his website (www.arihest.com) for tourdates because they are amazing as well. I have personally met Ari several times in the past 2 years and he is truly the nicest most humble guy I have ever met. I cannot be happier for him that he has gotten this opportunity to share his music with everyone.

This debut album is amazing! It's a little John Mayer, a little Dave Matthews, a little Josh Kelly a little Joe Cocker but with its own orignal style still in tact! This guy has a rich voice which I suspect will be around for a long while! Good to drive to, walk to or have in the background of a dinner party! I am happy to have this new artist in my collection and plan to see him live! In a world where Ashlee Simpson's CD debuts at #1, it is nice to see an original act with an original sound and alot of talent! And, he's cute so the Ashlee Simpson fans will probably like him, too! Go buy it - you won't be sorry!!!

Like the headline says, Ari Hest is a great guy with great music. It's definitely his time to be signed by a major record label; I have all of his previous albums, and he just keeps getting better. He is a talented musician and songwriter, with songs to fit any and all moods and times. Check out this album...it shows all of his talent in singing and songwriting.

Like the title of my review suggests, this album does not have one bad song on it. This is because Ari Hest has worked extremely hard to record an album of extremely catchy and thought provoking songs, without becoming monotonous. Some of these songs are brand new, and some were only written when he was just a teenager, but they flow together seamlessly to create a musical collage of memories and reflections. But not only are the songs fantastic and the production fitting, Ari's voice is what really makes this record shine. His raspy chest voice makes songs like "Fond Farewell" and "They're on to me" exciting and agressive, while his beautiful falsetto and upper register adds perfect flavor to songs like "Consistency" and the heart-achingly gorgeous "Someone To Tell." He has been compared to Peter Gabriel, James Taylor, and John Mayer, but Ari truly is his own musician. He does not try to mimmick anyone, instead he creates his own sound and personality, without being too hokey or pretentious. Although he is part of the singer-songwriter genre, Ari moves away from the meaningless lyrics and predictable chord progressions that many singer-songwriters are emerging with. It is obvious that Ari will continue to watch his fanbase grow over the years to come, and will create new and inspiring music throughout his career.

This is Ari Hest's debut Columbia CD, although he has three previous independent CD releases. Ari is a great storyteller, the songs are melodic and they show off Ari's impressive vocal range. This is intelligent music by an impressive newcomer.

I only discovered this guy yesterday, but I can't get enough. I especially like "Pour Me In", "Hold On", "Your the Only One", and "Consistency". He has a wonderful voice and is pretty cute which is always a plus in my book.

Upon discovering Ari Hest, I feel for 'Anne Marie'. This albums reminds me why I love music so much! I ordered his cd after hearing only snippets from an e-card and I was not disappointed one bit! You'll be bopping along to 'Their On To Me' and adore 'Abeerdeen'.

If you've ever wanted to be able to say, "I had his CD before he was a star," then here is your chance. This is Ari Hest's first album on a major label, but I don't think it will be his last. This CD is soulful, introspective, melodic, complex and revealing. The songs all have hooks that are catchy without being formulaic. Each song is different from the next, making the entire CD a great listening experience. Pay special attention to "Anne Marie" and "They're On To Me"...I think they will be the first two big singles from this album. I'm sure it won't be long before we see Ari performing them on Letterman and Leno!
