I brought this book home to read during my 2 week Father"s Day celebration to my father since I was born on Father"s Day . I knew it would be a good read. I WAS RIGHT!!! The author of "Someone's Daughter", Silvia Pettem, Has far surpassed any expectation her readers and fellow "collegues" could have ever imagined. This is a True Crime story retold by an author (Silvia Pettem) who is the only author with the britches to retell it. Her dedicated research and thirst for justice for "Jane Doe'," laid it all out for the reader to see a clear picture of the timeline that led to "Jane Does" demise. I congratulate author Silvia Pettem for a job well done. If only I had known about this books' publication date 4 1/2 years ago I would have declared this as such a lot sooner. "Jane Doe" is Katharine Farrand Dyer, and ANYONE who reads this book knows it. Her Killer is Harvey Glatman--that's the bottom line. The proximity to the places/homes they frequented;Harvey Glatmans' "lonely hearts" service and a newly divorced Katharine Dyer; Harvey Glatmans' criminal record and the manner in which his murder victims were found; the uncanny results of Dr. Fentons' photo-superimprovision; connecting dots between the surviving acquaintances of Katharine Farrand Dyer, Silvia Pettums', dogged perseverance has her readers unable to speak when he or she gets to the last page.' I a m a big fan of True Crime. It is the only genre of book that I read. I have no idea how I first missed this one in 2009. I am in awe of Silvia Pettems' work. I can't wait to locate her other works of non fiction. Silvia Pettem: you have won my heart. Nothing of what you do will change that. One book of yours is not enough. "Someones Daughter" is my start, not my finish. Looking forward to scoring a Pettem library collection. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. The idea that one women could pursude the sheriff to open up a cold case from 50 years ago, and then set forth on a self-funded/contributions from the community to solve the case is amazing to me. This book details her quest to solve the mystery before time runs out..Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

"Others probably don't know the time and love you put into this, but I do. And so will anyone that reads this book. An excellent memoir of events that span more than half a century. It's an honor to have been involved in some small way with something so special. Well done my friend."Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
