Arnie, the main character of this book, is a shy Jewish boy who just moved to the big city. Here he is going to a new school, with new kids and a whole new life. Arnie is building a magic cabinet to use when he becomes a famous magician, which is his dream. When Arnie first meets someone he¿s very shy, but when he gets to know him or her, he is a lot of fun to be with. He¿ll go to places that most kids don¿t want to go. He will go to broken down spooky houses and lots more. Arnie lives with his mother and father. His father works at a big company that has long hours and hard work. His mother stays home and takes care of the house. In this book Arnie meets two good friends. One is a dog that he finds, that has one blue eye and one brown eye, and the other is a boy named Eliot Gold. But something happens to them, which you can find out if you read this wonderful book, and I suggest you do!
