The only thing

All she wanted was a fresh start. Moving to Chicago for college, escaping her small town, Nyla finally felt she had it all. Then Jameson is suddenly everywhere, invading her life, school schedule, and dating her supervisor at the posh art gallery where she works. How can she survive her fresh start, when her high school bully is everywhere.

The only thing that scared him about going to college was the crushing fear that he wouldnt see Nyla anymore. So after graduation, Jameson applied to Roosevelt College, her school, to try to make sense of why he felt that way. Hoping it would only take a semester to understand his strange attraction and why he tormented her during high school, instead he realized that there was something more about Nyla, and something more to the way he felt. Now he must prove to her that she feels the same way about him.

Meet the Author

This is a story about a girl, named Mia. She grew up in suburb of medium sized city. There were cold winters, and hot sticky summers. Mias favorite seasons were spring and fall. She enjoyed the mild seasons, but also loved the vibrant colors each possessed.
Mia loved music. She didnt just love it, she sat on the floor in front of her Casio stereo for hours at a time, recording songs off the radio. Then she would cue them up and make sure she only got the music as she recorded them on a second tape, without the DJs voices on them, just the music. Then she would listen to those songs absorbing the words as she sat in her room and wrote her poetry.

She wrote her first Poem when she was thirteen. It was called Sands of Time. When she was sixteen and again when she was eighteen she won two state competitions for her poetry. Her Poetry was stories of roses, starry nights, love, loss, and the scars left behind. She found recourse in those private moments filling notebooks of her writings. As she grew so did her inspirations, and when ever it hit her the rest of the world melted away until her verses were written, alive in the world.

Even today as Mia writes mostly YA fiction, poetry still holds a special place in her heart. Her love for all things words propels her forward in her pursuit of the next great story. Her Debut Novel The Ocean will be released this spring.

Something More is something worthy! Something More totally BLEW MY MIND! Man have I never ever read a book where the male character was one I wished I could jump in the book and kick his tush. Then to make matters worse a few chapters in I was cheering for him. Dam that author she is a master of all things wonderful! She knows how to take a book and bait you just enough that you keep reading and then you are HOOKED like a fish caught on a line! Something More is a story about a girl Nyla who has just graduated from high school. She has decided she wants to get away from her small town and start a new life where she can be herself and do what she wants to do without anyone making her feel uncomfortable. She decides she is going to go to college in Chicago and rent an apartment and get a job. When she gets to Chicago it is like a breathe of fresh air away from all the pain and hurt she felt at home. She gets a job at an awesome art gallery and she loves her classes. As she is getting into the grove for her first few classes she meets Ethan and they hit it off. She realizes that she has never had a boyfriend before because of her sisters best friends brother Jamison. See Jamison and Nyla were always thrown together because they were the same age and their sisters were best friends. But Jamison is a douche in high school and treats Nyla like crap. Every time they are forced to do things together they rebel. So when Nyla has a chance to start all over again she does. Then she is totally blindsided by Jamison when he shows up at her favorite coffee shop. She hears his name being called and then hears his voice and all the old insecurities come back. She is pissed because he was supposed to be going to another college and he ended up at the college she was going to. Then to make matters worse he ends up in half her classes and she hates him with everything she has. Jamison knows he did Nyla wrong and he wants to make it up to her. He is maturing and he realized that he may just like Nyla a little more than he thought. He can't stop thinking about her and when he finds out she is dating his roommate he is not happy. But Jamison has no rights to her and he has no reason to be mad because he treated her like crap and she never did anything to him. What is a guy to do to prove to the girl he loves that he is genuine? Will she give Jamison a chance? Will she walk away from him? Mia has done an EPIC job with this Novella and I need more! I need another Novella with a certain Ethan in it to sate my curiosity about him. Read this because it is a must read!

To Anonymous who left the review titled BAD: While you're certainly entitled to your opinion after reading Mia's Something More novella, it would mean that you'd actually have to have read it. Your commentary/criticism is not specific to any portion of the book and could be copied/pasted to any other review. Since your criticism doesn't refer to anything in the actual story, it seems as though you haven't read it. If you have, then offer constructive criticism. When choosing a book to read, I read the all the reviews and base my decision off of that. But your review just feels mean rather than constructive. And, yeah, I'm Anonymous too. LOL ps...I really like the book. :)

*Shudder* That was my involuntary reaction after agreeing to read Mia Castile’s YA “Romance”, ‘Something More’. “How do I keep getting myself into these things?” I asked myself, sighing dramatically. I had never read anything by Mia Castile before, so I wasn’t really sure what to expect. She seemed to have a good reputation as a writer, and…you know…she is a Hoosier! Knowing that I didn’t fall within her target market, I nonetheless dove into the story, hoping my manliness wouldn’t get too diluted. Then something amazing happened! I really liked the story! (You know….besides the romantic stuff *) But seriously, I found Something More to be a well crafted and interesting story. Mia Castile’s writing style is both fluid and thorough, and you will find her characters both intriguing and realistic. You feel the emotions of Nyla’s angst as she fights falling in love, and Jameson’s cockiness as he confidently woos her. Personally, I fell in love with Nyla…ummm…you know….in a manly way. I am totally impressed with Mia Castile and her story. I would totally recommend this book to anyone that wants an intriguing and well written YA romance! (* ~ Men…I have heard that the female of our species really likes this….a lot!) P.S. ~ I was just kidding about women not being allowed to read this….but you already know that don’t you? I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Took me five days to force myself to finish this book. Considering I can finish a 500 pg book in a day this is saying a lot. The writing was choppy and very much the step by step this is what's happening type of book. No imagination required on the readers part because the author has already told you what to picture, think and feel. The storyline turned out to be much more cliche then I thought it would be. Nyla is an idiot. Ethan whiney and Jamison is one dimensional with the attempt of more demensions made...fell flat. I didnt connect with the characters at all.

This book was actually amazing!! I did not think I would love this book as much as I did: it was like a hidden gem really. Jameson and Nyla were truly perfect together and were made for each other. When I first started reading the book, I expected to hate Jameson but that was not the case at all: behind the jokes and taunts of Nyla in high school lies a deep raw emotion. To say Nyla is a relatable character is an understatement. Nyla reminds me of myself in many ways. Nyla was so insecure in high school and was hoping that would change getting away from home and Jameson: except  for the fact he ended up going to her school too. Jameson and Nyla both changed from how they used to be, and it worth seeing how drastically they do. This book is a must read! DO IT!! :)

This was a great love story. The two characters find themselves in each other and Jamison learns that theres more to life than being popular. I loved this and everything Mia writes.

This is a sweet romantic read about young love. There really isn't a whole lot you can say about this book without giving away to much because it is really cut and dry. This book was pretty straight forward without any twist, turns, or adventures. You could honestly tell where this book was going to end. This wasn't one of my favorite books, but if you like something sweet and simple this book will be for you.
