Overview

The citizens of Henry Adams are starting to take bets—will Lily Fontaine and Trent July finally tie the knot?

All they want is a nice, simple wedding, but their well-meaning neighbors are turning the no-fuss affair into the event of the decade. Bernadine, the town's fairy godmother, wants Lily to have a storybook wedding fit for a princess, and Lily's nine-year-old foster son is campaigning to be town preacher so he can officiate at the ceremony. Trouble multiplies when Trent is called on to help a new family move to town, not to mention Lily and Trent's task of blending their families together.

With the bustle of the tight-knit, and often tightly wound, friends and family pushing them to the breaking point, the couple begins to wish they'd eloped. But, as they'll soon be reminded, happiness in Henry Adams is meant to be shared.

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
In Jenkins's delightful third Christian romance set in Henry Adams, Kans., a couple of high school sweethearts find their way back into each other's arms in middle age. Jenkins is a renowned proponent of foster parenting and adoption, and her protagonists are no different; before they reconnected, Trent July and Lily Fontaine both took in wayward boys, Amari and Devon, mischievous children who aren't sure they want to be brothers. When Trent and Lily reunite and decide to marry, everyone in the close-knit community of Henry Adams wants to help make the wedding day special, and with the support of Lily's wealthy boss, matriarch Bernadine Brown, and Rev. Paula Grant, a broad-minded Episcopalian minister, the lucky couple are well-bolstered to catch the curve balls that life keeps throwing their way. Jenkins's dialogue crackles, and the Scripture-infused story line will satisfy her many fans. (June)

A decent read not my favorite But...

A decent read not my favorite BUT I wish still purcahse the 4th book in April.

Likes: Clears up some questions from part 1 and 2.
Love the rich characters. You get realy invested.

Dislikes: I really don't like that the author constantly repeats things from past books.(If the reader did not buy the other parts, don't make your readers that did have to reread thing they already know!
Parts that are drwn out that don't need to be but some importants parts are crammed on one page.

All in all I could forgive the dislikes because I really am invested and love the characters.

Change & Growth Is A Blessing

This story is an expansion of a wonderful series that is full of love and caring, The tittle reflects on the upcoming nuptials of Trent and Lilly. They were high school sweethearts that had drifted apart but have rekindled their romance and are now getting married.

This story also gives a more accurate picture of three of the children that were brought to the town of Henry Adams as foster children , Devon, Zoey and Amari. The revelations will have you in laughter and tears.

There are new people introduce to the town and this creates such a richness to the story. You also are given a glimpse of some underhanded dealings that might be going on behind the scenes.

All in all it is a story of change and growth, some times change is hard but if you adapt life is definitely worth living and the rewards can be tremendous.

    Loved this book

The Blessings Series by Beverly Jenkins is the best. I've loved all of them and I really enjoyed the latest. It was great getting caught up with all the characters and see them all progress as well as the new developments. Everything about this book was great. The characters, the plot, the tone. This had something for everyone. Romance, family, and humor. Jenkins really is a wonderful storyteller. You will fall in love with the characters in this series. I wish there were more books like this. Books that leave you with a really good feeling when you're done. Keep up the good work Ms.Jenkins. I can't wait for the next one in the series.

All that ! But what about?

I am blown away with this book. It was filled w twists and turns and dips and swerves. I have more questions than i have answers but i truly enjoyed the journey. ALL THAT!!! The characters are real and genuine. I know people like these people. The children sound like they attend my school. BUT WHAT ABOUT? I am frustrated by all the remaining questions. I just found the series. Read the first three back to back. And now i must wait a year... cruel cruel world. Good day Henry Adams. Til i visit another day!

    more from this reviewer

A Series that just warms your heart!

The stories themselves in this series are the Blessings that Beverly Jenkins shines upon us showing how a small town can take several foster children to their hearts and not only repair the children's spirits but their own as well.

Yes, there is an old saying that money can't buy happiness, but here in Henry Adams KS, it can relieve the stress and rebuild a town's self-respect.

I would recommend this series for everyone!

    Great series

Great series that trasports me to a different time and place when I need a break from my hectic days. I like the fact that the characters have problems, but they are resolved the way you would ideally want problems to be resolved in real life. I wish real-life issues were resolved this seamlessly.

    Love Series

I love this series however this one repeated too much info that you read or should have read in the past. You leaving out details from the previous books makes the reader buy & read them. In this book i felt that the end was rushed however if some or the repeat info was left out more time could have been could have been put into a proper more detailed un rushed ending.

I ve already purchesed the next book & looking forward to it.

    Highly recommended.

After reading the first two books in the series, I was anxious to read this one and it lived up to my expectations. I am now awaiting the 4th book. Very heartwarming with unexpected twists, just like in our own lives.
