All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Somewhere Down the Road is something between a new album and a compilation, offering six brand-new recordings balanced with three reissues, a handful of re-recordings, and a few unreleased cuts. It's easy to tell the newer cuts, as they're the ones that bear slight traces of Auto-Tune on Amy's vocals, but all of this is cut from a similar cloth: everything marches to a deliberate tempo, everything is well-scrubbed and melodic, everything is friendly and melodic without quite being hooky. If it's not Grant's best-known or compelling music, it is certainly representative of how she's sounded since the turn of the millennium, and since she hasn't done all that much...

    Anotber Great Amy Grant collection!

I love Amy Grant's music. This collection follows the journey of life. I really like the song that Amy and her daughter sing together, it's great! I love the variety of songs and found them to be very inspirational. "Better than a Hallelujah" could be a big hit--I love it.
My only problem with the disc is that the volume of some of the songs is low so you need to adjust your cd volume off and on in order to catch some of the songs. BUT, the collection is DEFINITELY worth it!!

    I Also Recommend:

Amy Grant has still got it!

I would say the "public nap" did Amy more good than harm. This album is absolutely wonderful. There is a great deal of honesty that Amy is unafraid to show which creates a connection with the music unlike no other. There is not one song on this album that will not speak to someone if they just take the time to listen. You will find your "smile", your "tears", your "frustration", your "longing", your "contentment", your "need to worship", and most of all "the happiness good music brings". I love this album because it is one that I can listen to with my children and they love it too. It speaks to young and old alike. Amy has definitely created another hit recording! Thanks for sharing Amy and God bless.

Amy bears her soul in this new work!!

I was expecting something more dynamic from Amy, but I was HAPPILY surprised when I heard the heart felt songwriting and tone of her new album. I have been a follower of Amy's since 1980 and this album shows her soul, heart and bears her life for all of us to see!! The remakes of past hits were nice to hear in their updated mode. Good job Amy!! Sarah Chapman was awesome too!! She may have to follow in her mother's footsteps.
