Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Carter Tuckman
Raging hormones and adolescent romantic yearnings can inspire sweet music. From Sixpence None the Richer's "Kiss Me" to Paula Cole's "I Don't Want to Wait," SONGS FROM DAWSON'S CREEK features tunes that speak directly to young hearts. Sophie B. Hawkins's "Lose Your Way" -- with its promise, "lose your way, and I will follow" -- and Wood's "Stay You" "I love the way you answer the phone and pretend you're someone else" capture the elation of falling hard for someone special, while Shooter's "Life's a Bitch," and P.J. Olsson's "Ready For a Fall" reflect the confusion, disappointment and bitterness that comes with growing up. No matter how old we are, Pop-rock this ...

All Music Guide - Jason Ankeny
Though not as consistent or eclectic as the concurrently released soundtrack to the WB network's other smash teen drama, Felicity, this 14-track collection of music from Dawson's Creek is still a must-have for fans. The majority of songs follow the same soaring alternative pop formula as the show's opening theme and the disc's closer, Paula Cole's hit "I Don't Want to Wait" -- in fact, Heather Nova's "London Rain Nothing Heals Me Like You Do," Sixpence None the Richer's "Kiss Me" and Sophie B. Hawkins' "Lose Your Way" are all virtually carbon copies, but each is successful in evoking the melodrama which keeps millions of us tuned in week after week.

    Goes With The Show

I bought this CD a couple years ago when I was an obsessive teenybopper fan of the show. The soundtrack goes perfectly for the show. And,listening to the whole CD straight through just last night it is still enjoyable. I don't really enjoy the show anymore but this soundtrack is good. It's alternative pop music. Nothing you would see on MTV. The songs take you back in time thinking about love and making you think you're not alone in the world. There is some angry girl pop, too. My fave tracks are #2 Sophie B. Hawkins:Lose your way and #5 PJ Olsson:Ready for a fall.

    Great mix

Okay, let's see here. Number 6 (Stay You) is an excellent song. And if you like that, then you'll like Cry Ophelia. The song by Shooter is really good. Any Lucky Penny is good, and if you like that you'll probably like Feels Like Home. Number 11, Letting Go, is wonderful. It makes me cry every time I listen to it. And of course I Don't Want to Wait is a really good song. Heather Nova is really good. Ahh i like this album a lot :)

    awesome soundtrack

Very good music, however they didn't include the song when Dawson and Joey first kiss. Still a good album. Number 3(Feels Like Home) is my fiance's and my song.

    um, ew?

I hated this album. The only song worth listening to the Life's A B!tch by Shooter. The rest are useless! No good, I should've saved my money. I wonder if I can still refund it ...
