This landmark edition of William Blake's most famous work is based on Blake's original printing. The book includes a facsimile remarkably faithful to the colors of the original and extensive plate-by-plate commentary by one of the world's foremast authorities on Blake.

    Cheap edition of no value

I ordered this book and was very disappointed: it only contained the transcripted poems. No pictures of the coloured plates, no commentaries and interpretations by Robert N. Essick. No Bibliography or Index either. Barnes and Noble descriptions shown with this books are clearly misleading and should be removed. This is a cheap edition of the poems only and is not worth purchasing. Some of the poems are very hard to understand without the proper historical context and explanations to the worldview of William Blake.
