Lauren Kennedy has such a poignant and striking voice that will leave you remembering each note of every song. Of course, she has the talented words and melodies of Jason Robert Brown to back her up, which is always helpful, but she sells this CD herself. I've seen Lauren live on more than one occasion, and she never ceases to amaze me. Do yourself a favor and buy this album!

JRB's music jumps out at you on this compilation, I agree that it may be limited, BUT I think that it is a great repersentation of his beautiful music. I can't wait to hear Lauren in more shows, possibly a replacement for Idina in Wicked. Her voice has no limits, and is so vocally sound I am amazed. I wish I could get my hands on a video or album of Lauren in Last 5 years at chicago.

    disappointing Jason Robert Brown compilation

This CD contains over the top singing and arrangements of JRB songs. The CD depends on studio effects and lacks emotional depth. The singer instead sounds like she's showing off, which would be fine if she was successful, but it only leaves one feeling as if she tried and failed. I can't adequately describe how disappointed I was in this half-hearted attempt at JRB as "rock." He needs to work with other performers who can get to the soul of his music.
