What People Are Saying

John H. Adams
"Dr. Whitehead's collection of polished sonnets is not only amazing in quantity, but extraordinary in range of topics, from the simple joys of family memories, to education, the charms of nature, and up through religion and philosophy. They reveal a mind well-versed in English literature and the classics. No reader who enjoys poetry will fail to find favorite nuggets in this gold mind of verse."--(John H. Adams, Ph.D., Professor of English, Emeritus, Murray State University)
Vaudene Pedigo
"J.M.Whitehead has published an ambitious collection of 676 well-crafted sonnets covering a myriad of eternal subjects: from love, beauty, and music to contemporary thoughts: computers, politics, and conversations with Iraqi students. Feel uplifted while reading WHEN IN EUPHORIA and savor one of my favorite lines - "And wrinkled frowns, into smooth-landing's smile" or ponder WHEN IN UNCHARTED WATERS's " . . . Time sees things older, wiser, differently. Find something for everyone, and stretch your vision!"--(Vaudene Pedigo, Library/Media Specialist)

Jim Whitehead has written and published just under 700 sonnets, an astonishing feat. Not only are the poems thought-provoking and polished, they grew from the writer's obvious joy in composing and include topics which range from love to war and from beloved pets to Shakespeare and Plato. It is a book for those who can appreciate the difficulty and intricacy involved in composing a sonnet and for general readers who simply enjoy a nuanced thought. It's a book which truly provides hours of treasure hunting!
