Editorial Reviews

Chuq. von Rospach.
Resnick's style in SOOTHSAYER is similar to the one he used in IVORY; he is not so much an author as a bard sitting before the fire, creating myth. SOOTHSAYER is a wonderfully-written lyrical tale, and I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about it.
Don D'Ammassa
SOOTHSAYER is one of those rare novels that pulls you in so quickly and effectively that you'll end up reading it in a single sitting.

    Soothsayer is a good read.

Rescuing a little girl in trouble sets the thief, Mouse's, life on wild ride. Penelope is a seer, able to see all possible outcomes resulting from the choices that lie a few seconds ahead of her. This makes her valuable, dangerous and in danger. Leaving behind her mentor, Merlin, Mouse takes the girl on an intergalactic quest for safety from the bounty hunters who want her dead or imprisoned. With the help of the Forever Kid, an Immortal who seeks to either die or see others to their deaths, the young woman and child stay one step ahead of danger, until a desperate gamble takes a bad turn that forces Mouse to make a choice she never anticipated. ...............*** With surprising twists, Mr. Resnick presents his readers with a true moral dilema that will make them think. More in depth characterization would have made this a more fascinating novel; nonetheless, it is thought provoking and disturbing. ***

    Stunning Trilogy by the Master

I admit to being a big Resnick fan, but this trilogy, I believe, represents works by an author at the height of his powers. When you finish, you will not believe the story arc when you look back. Resnick's writing style is very unique and entertaining. I read these on my PocketPC on long train rides. Perfect!

Sci Fi as it should be; Original, imaginative, compelling

This is the first ever e-book I have bought and I intend to now buy every e-book Mike Resnick has written. I am not a fan of sci-fi but found myself somehow drawn to this book. A warning; you will not be able to stop reading this novel. Soothsayer is incredibly fast paced, wonderfully original, intelligently written, and extremely easy to read. The story and characters are the result of a true craftsman. Buy this book!
