About the Author

Laura Oravec has been an animal lover since she was a child, owning many types of pets throughout her life. She was the kid that was always bringing home stray dogs and cats, even an injured duck and a dove. When the family dog got pregnant and started delivering her puppies, Laura who was only 10 years old at the time was there to help with the delivery, while talking on the phone with the vet.

She owned, trained and showed horses for over 12 years. She has been a Ragdoll cat breeder for over 18 years and also shows cats with her husband Frank. She also does cat rescue work. Laura attends as many seminars as she can in animal related fields because she feels you can never have too much knowledge, and she has a wealth of knowledge to share as well. She is very active in cat clubs and has put on many cat shows.

But... not only does she love animals, she loves food too! Laura loves to cook and bake the family recipes that have been passed down, but also likes to try new recipes and change them up to make them taste even better. She wont pass up an opportunity to eat at a good pizza joint or restaurant either. When she tastes something that makes you go, OMG that's soooo good, she's not afraid to go talk to the chef and ask for the recipe. Many chefs have given her great tips. Not many people that know her will pass up a meal if she's offering to cook.

Another of Laura's passions is writing. Her many interests and working knowledge are where her inspiration comes from. Laura has written magazine articles, press releases, newsletters, flyers, catalogs, brochures, ads, booklets, websites and books.
