Every kid fears the monsters in the closet, but for Devon March, the monsters are all too real. Horrible things come slithering out across his floor, determined to drag him with them back down their Ilellhole. But Devon is no ordinary young man, lie can move objects with his mind, summon incredible strength, disappear at will, and that is only what he has discovered he is capable of so far. Yet his powers, and the demons in his closet, remain for him an unexplained mystery. Sent to live at Ravenscliff, a dark seaside mansion, Devon must contend not only with the demons but with a strange precocious boy who may prove to be the link to the most fearful demon of all: The Madman, who wants to unleash the creatures of the hellhole for his own malevolent gain.

I began reading this book about 7 years ago in highschool, never got to finish it and had since forgotten the name. Yet even though the name had since faded, the vivid imagery has stayed with me as though it were haunting me. Truely fasinating and remarkable and absolutely spell-binding. As I said this book if you can call this masterpiece something as simple as a 'book', provides amazingly vivid and lasting memories.

Hell literally knocks on Devon March's door - his closet door to be exact. All the hordes of hell seek to drag him into their fiery depths. He knows he has the power to defeat a demon or two and to cast them back into their hellholes but he doesn't understand why. The key to Devon's future lies in his past but the time to learn of his heritage is quickly running out. The Madman, an evil sorcerer bent on ruling the world, knows Devon's powers better than he does. Will he uncover the truth of his heritage in time to save the world from the Madman? Does he even possess the power needed to defeat him? He'll have to go into the very depths of hell to find out. Of course, getting into hell won't be a problem for Devon. The question is . will he be strong enough to fight his way back out?

Come on now if the cover doesn't attract your attention you'll be blown away by the story. Just the title amazings me. This is a book no one should miss. It's good from the start to the end!!!!Seriously every word, sentence, paragraph is worth the reading. I read this book in the beginning of 8th grade and I still haven't gotten the blast it gave me. He's an amazing writer and hooks you before you even realize. Read Sorcerers of the Nightwing and the second on. I hope he keeps writing as much parts of the series as possible!

I dont know what Ian Kappos is talking about, but Geoffrey Huntington's Ravenscliff series is the best series I've ever read. I mean it. Geoffrey Huntington has a unique style. It completely grabs my attention and I'm a huge nerd for reading in the hallways while walking to my next class so its not like i don't know what i'm talking about when it comes to good books. Name a book and I've probably read it, but this series is by far the best I've read...(next to Stephen King's Dark Tower series). But really, Geoffrey Huntington, send the 3rd book out already!!!

I enjoyed reading this book. At first I thought it was just another book about haunted houses and ghosts. But it was more than that. Just interesting details and vivid writing, I can't stop seeing pictures in my head. This book should become a movie!

I absolutely love this book and I have the second one too. The second one is good, but I really like the first one as much if not better.

Rather like the Harlequin romance novel of the teen fantasy genre - good, but whenever anyone walks over you feel the urge to hide the cover. That said, it was quite involving and despite being 421 pages long, a fast read. I'll definitely look for the sequel.

This is one of the best books I have ever read, and I read alot! It reminds me alot of Harry Potter, but the charactors' personalitys are better discribed in this book. I give it 5+ stars and hope the second book is as good!
