I read this book some years ago while doing research for my doctoral dissertation. At the time, I was living in southern Ohio, in and near many of the sites mentioned in this book. It didn't take me long to start exploring the area and, in doing so, I became a huge fan of everything that Allan Eckert wrote. I recommend anything, absolutely anything written by Allan Ekcert! His books are extremely well researched, providing information that might not be commonly known and, in doing so, makes history interesting and very readable with believable historical characters.
