Editorial Reviews
All Music Guide - Jason Birchmeier
The Soul Love series of albums feature some of the classic soul era's best moments, emphasizing songs about love. There's a nice sense of diversity among the featured performers and songs. There's not an abundance of Motown songs like you might expect, and there are quite a few lively songs featured that might surprise you. For the most part, though, the featured songs are love ballads. Some of the noteworthy songs on this volume include Gene Chandler's "Duke of Earl," Funkadelic's "One Nation Under a Groove," and Curtis Mayfield's "Moving on Up." Released by the U.K.-based Dressed to Kill label.
