Overview

Nine years ago, Faerie Magic saved Mairi MacKiernan at the cost of her dreams of happiness, snatching her from her life in 1272, and depositing her in the twenty-first century. Now, she must save the last Daughter of the MacKiernan family...who was murdered in 1295. Transported back in time at her request, Mairi finds herself captured by the same evil men as before! Is this the price the Faerie Magic requires of her this time?

Ramos Servans has dedicated his dreams to service as a Guardian, but when he discovers the evil unleashed on the Mortal Plain by his father and their people, he swears he will atone by ridding the world of Nuadian deceit. Part of his mission involves rescuing a lovely Highland lassie, and in the passion that grows between them, Ramos and Mairi find a new dream.

But falling in love can be dangerous when Faerie Magic is involved. Dreams may not be the only cost....

    SIMPLY YUMMY!

This is, yet, another fantastic read, the third of the series, the hero, Ramos Servans was introduced in the previous novel, as a yummy bad boy turned good.
He was definitely just as yummy in this novel, with a macho streak that makes you want one of your own!
The heroine is a pretty little time-traveler who is somehow feisty and demure at the same time.
The chemistry between the two takes a little while to build up, but when it does, it boils through the rest of the book.
I couldn't put it down, and I will definitely recommend this to my friends, and I am looking forward to reading any work she has in the future. Soul of a highlander is a keeper! Try K S Michaels for another interesting yummy.

    Another Keeper by Mayhue!

I adore Melissa Mayhue¿s ability to sweep the reader away to her fae-filled Highlands. Many of you will remember high-spirited Mairi from the first book and if you loved her like I do, then you¿ll be gaga for this book. And don¿t forget Ramos! The bad boy from Highland Guardian is back-- more brooding and sexier than ever. The chemistry between these two is hot hot hot! And the twist at the end regarding Mairi¿s fae gifts¿I don¿t want to spoil it for you but I have to say I can¿t wait to see how this plays out in Mayhue¿s next book. This series just keeps getting better!

Beautifully written story. I fell immersed instantly from the very start. This really is a very good story. The delemas that Mairi would face is very well done. I have a penchant for detail, and this plot held my attention to the last. High accolades to this fantastic writer of paranormal intrique. I recommend this book to anyone interested in good plotting and character developement.

Delightful Addition to my Keeper Shelf!

Third in Melissa Mayhue's Daughters of the Glen series, SOUL OF A HIGHLANDER follows the story of two wonderful characters first introduced in THIRTY NIGHTS WITH A HIGHLAND HUSBAND [June 2007] and HIGHLAND GUARDIAN [October 2007]. Faerie Magic rescued Mairi MacKiernan from certain death in 1272 and whisked her to safety in the twenty-first century, but at the cost of her dreams of ever finding happiness. When she discovers the last Daughter of the MacKiernan family was murdered in 1295, she knows it's up to her to demand Faerie Magic transport her back in time so she can save her line. Captured by the same evil men she'd barely escaped before can Mairi save anyone, including herself, from certain destruction? Ramos Servans dedicated himself to service as a Guardian after he discovered the evil unleashed on the Mortal Plain by his father and their people. He's determined to atone and rid the world of Nuadian deceit, but he doesn't count on complicating his mission by rescuing a beautiful, independently minded Highland lassie that teases his senses and fires his passion. After being introduced to Ramos in Mayhue's last novel, I could hardly wait to get my hands on SOUL OF A HIGHLANDER. He's every bit as delicious as I'd hoped yet conflicted as well by the guilt that resets him on his path of atonement. Mairi doesn't realize her path intersects with her sexy Guardian's and that they will face dangers together that will change both of their lives forever. I love the Fae world Mayhue has created, and this third novel in the series is a delightful addition to my Keeper Shelf!

    Another great one

This series has not slowed down at all. I love how she ties all the books together and brings characters from previous books into this one. Ramos is the perfect bad boy. The romance is steamy and the story is captivating. Highly recommend this entire series.
