Editorial Reviews

The New York Times Book Review - Rosemary Bray McNatt
…Questlove writes with a fan's passion…[he] has written a coming-of-age story with Soul Train as his muse and first love. His detailed, nearly obsessive knowledge of each episode allows him to isolate those shows with particular meaning for him, and permits us to glimpse his formative years growing up within a family of musicians…[a] delightful picture-laden book…

Having grown up watching every Saturday with eager anticipation of who was going to be on and what dances would be done, this book took me back. I also own the DVD box set. Questlove did an outstanding job at writing down the history as well as his own personal memories. It is a era that will not return. It is memories and the book is a great piece to have when reminiscing.
