Overview

Emma had a life that most people would happily trade for: a beautiful home on the beach, a loving husband, two wonderful daughters. But she went to bed most nights hoping to not wake up in the morning. Pills and alcohol were the only ways Emma could cope with the years of childhood abuse. She left home at fifteen and never looked back after her own mother held her at gunpoint.

Years later, a call from the police tells Emma that her mother is dead.

Emma returns to her childhood home, only to find her mother's journal. As she reads, her anger slowly begins to melt and the abuse she endured finally begins to make some sense...

Souls Set Free is a MUST read!! I was intrigued from the very first chapter! I literally cried. Souls Set Free was an emotional coaster but BOY! Was it worth the ride!! I connected to Emma and was able to relate to her on so many levels. This was Kimmie Easley debut novel. Ms. Easley was born to write! I look forward to reading more from Ms. Easley!

This was a great read, a good story, with a feel of real life events. I liked the way the author used the flash backs to help the reader understand the main characters point of view.
