Author Biography: Kent Brandenburg earned his B.A. in pastoral studies and biblical languages (Maranatha Baptist Bible College) and his M.A. and M.Div. in theology (Maranatha Graduate School). He is a long time church planter, pastor, and Bible teacher. As a pastor, his teaching and preaching are characterized by careful exegesis using the original languages and then practical exposition of the text in its context, already doing such through most of the Old and New Testament books. As a musician, he has played trumpet, traveled with choirs and ensembles, and written songs. As an educator in a church academy and Bible institute, he has taught Bible and history for over ten years. He has authored several academic papers, tracts, booklets, and pamphlets on various Biblical topics.

Having known Pastor Brandenburg personally for a number of years, and having worked in his church for a period of time in the past (although now I am on the East Coast), I know that he is an excellent man to write about the subject of music. He is a careful and sound expositor of Scripture who makes the applications God intends even if they do not tickle the ear, and he loves God, the brethren, and lost men. His church has wonderful music which does what music should; it glorifies God in a Scriptural manner. He is also consistent in his practices in this area in his family and personal life. I recommend this book very highly, and desire that the Biblical standards it enjoins are employed through all the churches of God and the wider fundamental and evangelical world.
