    great Maritime music

We love the Maritime area of Canada, and their music. This is a great introduction to anyone who doesn't know it, and a wonderful reacquaintance with all who do know and love the music from this area.

    Nova Scotia's finest

A compilation featuring original songs performed by some of Atlantic Canada's best known recording artists. This collection has been certified Gold in Canada, selling well in excess of 50,000 copies to date. Each of the songs presents a snapshot of life lived in the Canadian Maritimes, the province of Nova Scotia in particular. Nova Scotia is a peninsula, almost completely surrounded by water, and many of these songs speak of life as it is lived by the sea. Others reflect the Celtic or Acadian heritage of Nova Scotians. Most of these songs have been taken from other albums, but many of those are out of print or hard to find. Catherine McKinnon re-recorded her classic Farewell To Nova Scotia just for this collection. Raylene Rankin's version of Rise Again was recorded while she was a cast member of The Rise and Follies of Cape Breton Island and this is the only place you will find it on CD. The Garrison Brothers have not been together for years but many consider their version of Song For The Mira to be one of the best recorded.
