Got a chance to see these guys and they did not disappoint. I've been a fan of King Crimson so I expected to see something similar but what I got was even more. I'm familiar with the great skills of Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto but had not seen Michael Bernier play before. (His solo bow playing on the Chapman Stick is outrageous) his skill is beyond question and plays like he's been with these guys for 20 years. (Although I don't think he has been ... he looks like he's in his 30's). The music was tight and strong and came across similar to Crimson in parts but even more creative and dynamic. They played 2 Crimson covers "Elephant Talk" & "Red" superbly (in other words they kicked butt). I especially liked the CD title cut SOUP. If you get a chance to see Stick Men, do it!!, they have a great show. I bought the CD at the show and thought it was great as well. Excellent recording, excellent production value. This will be a collectors item soon. Jump on it.
