Editorial Reviews

Brad Pritchett, Ph.D.
This is a truly exciting political thriller set in a part of the world, Samoa[...]. The author clearly has an insider's knowledge of the region, which definitely adds to the atmosphere. In addition to a compelling plot with fully developed characters, the book is also extremely well written in a style that is both direct and literate. Enjoyed it from start to finish and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys politics, thrillers, or just good books
Don Messerschmidt, Ph.D.
If you like intricately plotted political thrillers, in exotic cultural settings, this book is for you. [A] fast-paced, multi-faceted tale that will keep you entertained from start to finish . . .
Don Messerschmidt, an anthropologist and award winning author and editor, writes from Vancouver, Washington.

Loved this book, the story unfolded really nicely. I could picture all the characters in my mind almost as if I was seeing a movie. As a big fan of Survivor reality show as well it was nice to picture up a little history in an area that I had not previously explored. Would like to see more from him.
Matilda Simmons
This is the book for you if you’re hunting for a good read on something "Pacific Islandish" with a dash of failed James Bond tryst, which adds all the more humour to it.

Highly Recommended - Fate of the world hangs in the balance

Very glad I bought this novel. It's technically an international political thriller, but don't think the fate of the world hangs in the balance; rather, the fate of characters' well-written inner and outer worlds are at stake, which was why I felt more vested as a reader. We understand the characters more deeply than the standard thriller through their perceptions, cultural interactions, and decisions that evolve with a lot of action. The historic back story-including Robert Louis Stevenson's real-world involvement and the questionable legality of the treaty dividing Samoa-was not compelling but it was interesting.
