Meet the Author

Stephen Pategas is a registered landscape architect and a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and the Garden Writers Association. A published garden photographer and lecturer, his areas of expertise include residential and specialty garden design, plant materials, garden ornamentation, and a variety of garden styles.
Co-author Kristin Pategas is a Florida Certified Landscape Designer and a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers and the Garden Writers Association. In 2000 she completed 18 years of service in horticulture with the Walt Disney World Resort. Kristin’s specialties include wildlife, herb and vegetable gardens, topiaries, container gardening, and garden living.
Stephen and Kristin are co-owners of Hortus Oasis (www.HortusOasis.com ), an
award-winning boutique landscape design firm in Winter Park, FL, that provides services in residential, commercial, and specialty garden design with an emphasis on “green” sustainable gardening.
