Southern Fried Divorce – The After Party brings more true stories of outrageous everyday life in the Big Easy from Judy Conners, author of the much-loved bestseller Southern Fried Divorce (which actor John Goodman called "more fun than a box of glue-huffing monkeys on St. Peter and Bourbon"). In this candid, funny and distinctly Southern memoir, Judy meets, interviews and gets to know replacement candidates for the position of Second Husband, and everyone's favorite -The Brown Dog - returns. Besides him, a whole passel of hilarious, crazy New Orleans folks wander through.
Judy also shares her remaining collection of special obituaries, memorials and funereal fun in the form of nicknames and family dirt and many of the author's favorite recipes and party hints are included. Special bonus: A few posthumous stories about the notorious "X", only just now known on account of people too scared to talk while he was alive!

Having lived for 27 years in New Orleans, I can attest to the authenticity of the characters and escapades that Judy Connor describes with such racy good humor. The present book is a sequel to her first, which focused on her notorious ex-husband--"that ex"--and the roller-coaster ride of his life as a nocturnal trickster, barkeep, and all-purpose New Orleans roustabout. Her sequel goes back over other delicious and salacious doings of those days, but also moves into Judy's own life and times in the years after "that-ex" passed on to the great saloon in the sky. It's great stuff, and stirs up a lot of nostalgia in a guy who is now snowbound in Minnesota.
