I did not think this book was as good as most Southern Living Publications that I have bought and read in the past. I receive a yearly Southern Living Christmas volume that is far better than this.
I recognize several recipes from other SL editions, so I'm not sure if they are all recycled or some old and some new. However, the recipes are mostly straightforward without exhaustive ingredient lists and there's plenty to appeal to different tastes. I trust SL because if you follow the recipes you can be pretty confident they will turn out as described. Overall nice holiday (or any day) collection of recipes.
I'm coming online to buy my own copy, because I just went through the library copy and found numerous recipes I'd like to try. I've also read and own several SL holiday cookbooks and really enjoyed this one having more recipes that could be used year around with some variance from basics. That goes for meats, veges and desserts.
