Space Prison
Space Prison is a sci-fi story by Tom Godwin. A ship en route to Athena, a planet 500 light years from Earth, is unexpectedly attacked by the Gerns, an alien empire in its expansion phase. People on the ship are separated by the invaders into Acceptables and Rejects. The Acceptables would become slave labor for the Gerns, and the Rejects are forced ashore on a planet called Ragnarok, where the gravity is 1.5 times that of Earth. It is populated by lethal, hostile creatures and this, combined with a terrible deadly fever that kills in hours, more than decimates the populace.
