Spanish for Gringos Level 2 is a published by Barron¿s and is part of a series of books that they produce to help non-natives learn to speak Spanish. My first exposure to Spanish was with the Learning Spanish Like Crazy program, which is excellent, but I like to try different approaches to help round out my skills.

Barron¿s is always a reliable publisher of foreign language material. This particular program uses a character, aptly named Gringo, to guide you through the lessons (taking the form of an adventure) by using a fun and lighthearted approach. The package includes a textbook and two CDs.

Overall it¿s a good program. The pacing is brisk, the lessons are entertaining, and the material is presented in a smart manner, but Spanish for Gringos Level 2 suffers a little in comparison to the first book in this series, which featured the voice of the author, William Harvey. This one does not use William Harvey even though he had a hand in creating it. Still, a good value and worthwhile program that effectively uses entertainment to keep you engaged.
